Mother bear attacks B.C. man in Vancouver suburb

A mother black bear that was shot and killed after it attacked a man in the Metro Vancouver suburb of Anmore had been a fixture in the community, said the mayor.

If they're coming into our major cities, I think it's time to surrender. All hail our new bear overlords!

So why was mother bear killed again? Don't they have tranquilizers for mommies? They only have orphan makers, and then use tranquilizer darts to "save the cubs"? For what? So they can become "attacker bears"? Weird.
