The courageous piper who played his comrades ashore during the D-Day landings has died aged 88. Bill Millin was ordered to keep playing his bagpipes to boost morale as fellow soldiers were killed around him. His actions were later immortalised in the film

    Thank you Bill Millin.

    You will be missed.

I have been to Pegasus Bridge, it is great the French have not forgotten the things that happened there.

I recall the nod they gave him at the 60th anniversary of D-Day. A Lancaster flying overhead, and a piper on every hill in the background. I still have goosebumps.

    RIP Piper Millin.
